Weekend matchup expected to generate $18 million in direct economic impact
The world-famous Savannah Bananas are bringing their one-of-a-kind brand of Banana Ball to Aggieland on Saturday, May 2, when they take on the Texas Tailgaters at Kyle Field. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m., capping a weekend of pre-game festivities, player appearances and exclusive deals for visitors across College Station.
The matchup is expected to generate approximately $18 million in direct economic impact for the College Station area, drawing fans from across Texas and beyond to experience the high-energy show that has taken the country by storm.
“When 100,000+ fans show up for a single weekend, that’s hotel rooms booked, restaurant tables full and shops busy from Northgate to Century Square,” said Jeremiah Cook, assistant director of tourism for the City of College Station. “Banana Ball is a great show, and it’s also a real shot in the arm for the entire city.”
