Texas A&M University Staff Council will host the third annual Maroon and White Fun Run, a community event benefitting the Staff Emergency Fund. This fund provides financial assistance to university staff facing unexpected hardships. The fun run will take place on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Aggie Park on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station.
The event is open to all Texas A&M University faculty, staff, students, former students and community members. Participants can choose to run or walk a 5K course through Aggie Park and campus. A 1-mile course is available for younger participants. Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and younger.
“The Staff Emergency Fund is a resource grounded in the Selfless Service Aggie Core Value for our Texas A&M community,” said Henry Judah, Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness. “This fun run is a great opportunity for us to come together as a community, support our colleagues in need, and promote wellness. We encourage everyone to participate and help make a difference.”
The fun run aims to raise funds and promote health and well-being among Texas A&M staff. In addition to the run and walk, the event will feature a community race expo.
“University Staff Council is thrilled to continue the tradition of organizing the Maroon and White Fun Run for our community. This event is for the entire Texas A&M community — students, employees and local residents – and it benefits our staff,” said Dr. Clint Patterson, University Staff Council chair. “Every contribution will directly impact staff members facing unforeseen challenges. Let’s lace up our running shoes and show our Aggie Spirit!”
