Fireworks Ordinance

The Independence Day holiday is a time to celebrate with family and friends.  Remember, it is illegal to shoot fireworks within the city limits. Like other summer holidays, when the warm weather hits, there’s nothing better than the smell of food on the grill. Along with grilling, many celebrations include camping, traveling, and fireworks.

As you celebrate with your family and friends, check for local burn bans and fire restrictions in the county. While many parts of the state have received large amounts of rain, it only takes a few warm, sunny days to dry out, increasing the risk of wildfires. If you are barbecuing, or roasting marshmallows near a backyard fire pit, always keep a water source near you (hose, bucket, or wet rags).

You can review the City Ordinance at https://cityofbrenham.online/ordinance-fireworks

To report the illegal use of fireworks within the city, call 979-277-7373.

Bryan

City offices will be closed Friday, July 3rd, in observance of Independence Day. Solid waste and brush/bulky collections will run as normal.

First responders, frontline workers, and military personnel are invited to enjoy free admission at Bryan Aquatic Center, Henderson Harbor and Sadie Thomas Pool. A valid badge or ID is required.

FULL CLOSURE INFORMATION

College Station

Most City of College Station offices and facilities will be closed Friday for Independence Day. Solid waste and recycling collections will operate on the regular schedule.

Holiday hours for City pools will be:

  • Cindy Hallaran Pool: Open Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Adamson Lagoon: Open Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday Pool Hours: Both facilities will be open Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

Closed facilities include the Ringer Library, Meyer Senior and Community Center, Lincoln Recreation Center, Halter Nature Center, and the Southwood Community Center.

To report an electrical outage, College Station Utilities customers should call 855-528-4278 and have their CSU account number ready. Payments to the municipal court on Monday must be paid by 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

As a reminder – discharging fireworks within 5,000 feet of the city limits is a misdemeanor and can result in fines of up to $2,500.

Navasota

Navasota City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of Independence Day. The closure includes City Hall, but trash pickup will still occur as scheduled, and emergency services (police and fire departments) will remain operational. The city is also hosting its Annual Freedom Festival on July 4th.
