The Theatre Company of Bryan – College Station is delighted to present LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST, a modern musical based on William Shakespeare’s comic play of the same name. Shakespeare’s plays have endured for centuries because they capture fundamental truths about human nature and experience, especially love. This second production of TTC’s Season 36.5, “Extended Family,” features the best comic genius of Shakespeare, updated and set to popular music—witty dialogue, mistaken identities, and star-crossed lovers. The story demonstrates how “the course of true love never did run true,” even though this knowledge never keeps us from falling in love.

In this acclaimed musical adaptation, four college friends (Jackson Reasoner, Beau Cochran, Michael Knighton, and Keith Owen) swear an oath to avoid women and focus on their studies for three years. Their vow is tested the moment four beautiful women from their past appear on the scene (Kayson Hergert, Tilly Hillje, Coral Suess, and Makayla Cox). Of course, the men each fall in love, breaking their oath. The usual witty and wacky Shakespearean comedy ensues. Set to lively music and exuberant choreography, LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST entertains us and offers a lighthearted and refreshing escape. The show is suitable for all ages but will appeal especially to adults of all ages.
