The Theatre Company Presents The Delightful “ANNIE”

The Theatre Company of Bryan – College Station presents the delightful ANNIE, the first production of Season 36.5, “Extended Family.” The story of everyone’s favorite curly-haired orphan and her dog, Sandy, based on the 1924 comic strip Little Orphan Annie, hardly needs much introduction: it contains some of Broadway’s most recognizable showtunes, such as “Tomorrow,” “It’s a Hard Knock Life,” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.” ANNIE opened on Broadway in 1977 and ran for almost six years, setting a record that held until 2009 for the longest-running show in what is now the Neil Simon Theatre.
Set during the Depression, ANNIE begins in an orphanage where 11-year-old Annie (Kate Fuhrmann) and several others endure the everyday cruelties of the disillusioned Miss Hannigan (Brittney Green). When billionaire Oliver Warbucks (David Case) sends his assistant Grace Farrell (Allie Byrd-Turner) to find an orphan to spend Christmas at the Warbucks mansion, he has no idea that he’s about to change both of their lives for good! Like all TTC productions, ANNIE features volunteers and performers direct from your BCS community. Come see this wonderful production, and you’ll leave the theatre with a warm heart and a head full of great tunes. Patrons of all ages will love seeing the large cast of ANNIE shine like the top of the Chrysler Building!
