About Boonville Heritage Park Boonville was the county seat for the first 25 years of Brazos County’s history. The park shelters the last remnant of the town and offers visitors an opportunity to see how pioneers lived over 150 years ago. The Texas Historical Commission has recognized the Boonville Cemetery as an important part of local history, and many early pioneers are buried here. Located in the park is the historic Turner-Peters log house which is furnished with items common in a home of the time. The log house, smokehouse, courthouse, and Masonic Lodge will be open to visitors during the event. The park is regularly open to the public on the first and third weekends of each month, from 10 am to 4 pm. Programs, tours, and school field trips are also available by appointment!
