Shani Scott is a powerhouse in media, known for her bold voice, inspiring journey, and unwavering commitment to elevating conversations that matter. Currently, she hosts The Mandatory Meeting—heard weekdays from 3PM to 7PM on Bryan Broadcasting’s Magic 97.3 in Bryan-College Station.
In addition, Shani serves as the Technical Producer for the nationally syndicated and Marconi Award-winning Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell for Reach Media, and she can also be heard across the Dallas/Fort Worth airwaves as an on-air personality for Radio One Dallas. Behind the mic, she shines as the Executive Producer of two standout podcasts: Shani Scott On Air and Big Bink’s Break Room.
A proud Texan—born in Houston and raised in Dallas—Shani began her media career at just 17 years old, working for major radio groups before launching her own company, Media Room 360. Through her platform, she’s become a respected media expert, author, actress, and TEDx speaker, with appearances on TMZ and Fox Soul’s Side Dish.
Expanding her impact into live entertainment, Shani is currently curating a national tour for the powerful stage production The Black Man: A Mental Health Journey, starring NAACP-nominated singer, actor, and director Andre Pitre and NAACP Award-winning actress Charnele Brown, best known for her role on NBC’s hit television series A Different World. The production is a transformative theatrical experience centered on healing, vulnerability, and real conversations around mental health in the Black community.
Shani is also a survivor—of stroke, breast cancer, and domestic violence—and she uses her voice to uplift others through advocacy, storytelling, and mentorship. Her strength and transparency have made her a trusted spokesperson for organizations such as the Texas Black Women’s Coalition for HIV/AIDS, the American Stroke Association, and the American Heart Association.
In 2013, she made history as one of the first Black female radio programmers in the East Texas market. Four years later, she returned to school to earn her Degree in Media Communications from Full Sail University, proving that purpose and growth have no expiration date.
A proud graduate of David W. Carter High School (Class of ’94), Shani originally attended Oklahoma City University on multiple scholarships before fully committing to her fast-rising career in broadcasting.
Above all, Shani is a devoted mother to two daughters and a beacon of resilience and empowerment. She continues to inspire women, youth, and media professionals with her authenticity and her passion for purpose-driven storytelling.
She is the author of two books—The Rough Side/The Soft Side and her latest release, Shani, How Do You Do It? A Mindset Manual.
